What is an MCC (manager) account in Google Ads?

Last updated: August 2026

An MCC (My Client Center), now called a Google Ads manager account, is a Google Ads account that manages multiple other accounts. Agencies use it to link to client accounts and manage campaigns without the client's login.

Why it matters for agencies

Linking via MCC is Google's official agency-access method. The client keeps ownership and can unlink anytime — no password shared.

The short version

If you're an agency or a client trying to get set up quickly: an MCC (My Client Center), now called a Google Ads manager account, is a Google Ads account that manages multiple other accounts. Agencies use it to link to client accounts and manage campaigns without the client's login. The practical takeaway is that you should never need to share a password to make this work — every major platform has an official way to grant access, and it can always be removed later.

Related to HandItSafe: HandItSafe uses exactly these official access methods, then adds a control panel so the client can see and remove access anytime — and a log of who had access and when.
