WordPress user roles — the agency is added as a Shop manager or Administrator user, not the shared admin login. You'll find it under WordPress admin → Users → Add New. The client keeps ownership of WooCommerce (WordPress) stores; the agency is granted only what you assign.
Grant the least access the work needs. Here's what each level on WooCommerce can do:
| Access level / role | What it can do |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Full control of the whole site including plugins and users. Grant only if needed. |
| Shop manager | Manage the store (orders, products, reports) without touching site settings. Ideal for an ecommerce agency. |
| Editor | Manage content; limited store control. |
| Customer/Subscriber | Not for agencies. |
1–2 minutes to create the user; they set their own password via email.
Create the agency their own user with their own password — never share the admin login. Delete or downgrade the user anytime.
Every step above is why agencies move to a single link. HandItSafe requests exactly the WooCommerce access you need — the client approves it through WooCommerce's own process in about three minutes, no password shared, and keeps a panel to see and remove access anytime. That visibility is why clients approve faster, and it makes offboarding a one-tap job later.
