Brand Account / channel permissions — the agency is added as Manager via the channel's Brand Account, not your personal login. You'll find it under YouTube Studio → Settings → Permissions. The client keeps ownership of YouTube channels; the agency is granted only what you assign.
Grant the least access the work needs. Here's what each level on YouTube can do:
| Access level / role | What it can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full control including deleting the channel. You keep this. |
| Manager | Edit channel details and permissions, upload, manage. Strong agency level. |
| Editor | Upload, edit videos and most content tasks. |
| Editor (limited) | Like Editor without revenue data. |
| Viewer | View-only, including analytics. |
1–2 minutes via YouTube Studio permissions; access is immediate for Brand Accounts.
On a Brand Account you invite the agency by their own Google email with a role — no password shared, removable anytime.
Every step above is why agencies move to a single link. HandItSafe requests exactly the YouTube access you need — the client approves it through YouTube's own process in about three minutes, no password shared, and keeps a panel to see and remove access anytime. That visibility is why clients approve faster, and it makes offboarding a one-tap job later.
