What is GA4 access?

Last updated: August 2026

GA4 access is user-level permission to a Google Analytics 4 property. The account owner adds a user by their Google email and assigns a role (Viewer, Analyst, Editor or Administrator) at property level.

Why it matters for agencies

Agencies should be granted at property level with the minimum role that fits the work — no login sharing required, and access is removable instantly.

The short version

If you're an agency or a client trying to get set up quickly: gA4 access is user-level permission to a Google Analytics 4 property. The account owner adds a user by their Google email and assigns a role (Viewer, Analyst, Editor or Administrator) at property level. The practical takeaway is that you should never need to share a password to make this work — every major platform has an official way to grant access, and it can always be removed later.
